You need to use the skills you learn in the time between lessons though don’t forget, your dog won’t learn much from just an hour or so of training per week.

Your dog will need a lot of grooming: There are professionals out there who can groom your dog for you, but if you take your dog to be groomed every week then that is going to cost you a small fortune, save it for special occasions. By grooming your dog yourself then you also develop a much closer relationship with them that you would if somebody else did it. All you need to do to keep them groomed and happy is to use your best dog brush and give them a good comb down once a week to clear any knots in their hair and get rid of the excess, plus it is a great time to check them over for any injuries they might have.

Your dog needs love too: Just because your dog can’t speak then that does not mean they are any less part of your family than a child, and they need just as much attention too. While it is easy to forget that your pet has needs too, then one common problem that emerges if you do ignore them for too long is bad behavior starts to emerge as they try to get your attention in other ways. To avoid that then take some time to enjoy playing with them each day, or when you take them out for a walk them give them some attention and take a ball out to play then.
